BG&E Resources recently completed on-site construction support services for Rio Tinto Iron Ore (RTIO) at the White Quartz Road Realignment situated at the Brockman 4 mine site in the Pilbara, WA.
This was undertaken after successful delivery of both the pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, where we provided several design options, enabling RTIO access to nearby ore deposits by separating autonomous dump truck operations and light vehicle access to the mine site. This involved all relevant disciplines including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and geotechnical engineering.
We provided full-time technical support and construction surveillance by assisting with the delivery of the project with RTIO, offering expertise in structural concrete, earthworks/pavements, electrical, water and communication services.
In addition to this, we provided off-site commercial support and a technical interface to assist with scope change and queries. The project controls/commercial support assisted with the delivery of the RTIO contract by assessing claims, variations and schedule slippage whilst minimising the client’s commercial exposure.
By delivering the project from pre-feasibility through to construction close-out, BG&E Resources was able to assist RTIO in providing a high quality, cost-effective package of works whilst minimising risk for the benefit of all relevant stakeholders.
