Fortescue has contracted us to deliver an options assessment for the replacement of the TK202 tanks at its Solomon Kings Valley operation.
Located within the Hamersley Ranges of the Pilbara region, the Solomon Hub open-cut iron ore mine is situated around 60 km north of Tom Price in Western Australia. TK202 provides thickener process water which is critical to the continuous operation at the Kings Valley site and the proposed design solution must mitigate production impact.
To cater for these requirements, BGER was approached to provide optimal solutions to ensure minimal downtime and disruption to the process. This will enable Fortescue to minimise cost impact and ensure safe continued stockyard and TLO operation while carrying out maintenance tasks.
For the upgrade of TK202, a 3D scan of the Tank and the immediate area is required to understand the impact of changes, upgrades, and site-run solutions installed since the production of the design model.
Upgrading critical assets is pivotal to maximising asset performance by enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring safe continued operation.
