As lead design consultant for the brand-new freight facility with container storage, rail sidings, heavy vehicle access roads and direct interface to the first stage of ARTC’s Inland Rail. BGER partnered with Coleman Rail in a D&C contract using a preliminary design provided by Pacific National. Numerous value engineered solutions were put forward which were carried forward into the projects detailed design. BGER worked closely with Pacific National and Coleman Rail to produce a cost effective, fit for purpose design that achieved all of the functional requirements set forth within a constrained environment. The project directly interfaced with Inland Rail, with numerous rail and pavement interfaces. These were engineered in collaboration with ARTC to provide a suitable and cost-effective outcome that all parties were happy with.
