Rewarding Technical Excellence at Curtin University

BG&E Resources (BGER) recently participated in the Curtin University, School of Civil and Mechanical Engineering, Student Awards Ceremony.

As part of our commitment to technical excellence, BGER has been a sponsor of the Most Outstanding Final Year Project in Material Science, for several years. Innovation is at the core of our business and the solutions we provide. Contributing to this program at Curtin University provides a gateway for us to liaise with and learn from the next generation of talented engineering professionals.

This year, we were pleased to present the Award to the winner, Liam Treeby, for his project “Finite element analysis of quasi-static crack propagation through rivet holes over a varying approach angle.”

Brad Thomas – Discipline Lead, Civil and Brendan Frichot, Senior Mechanical Engineer, represented BGER on the evening, who are both Curtin alumni.

Brad says, “It was an honour to participate in this year’s award ceremony and observe the innovation, skill and creativity that is being nurtured by so many of the students. I’m proud to be involved, considering material science underscores many of the technical solutions that we provide for clients in the Resources and Industrial markets.”

Congratulations to Liam for your hard work and on behalf of BGER, we wish you every success in your future endeavours.
